Fabulous historic 19th château superbly furnished with antiques located just outside the village of Dangeul, 5km from Marolles Les Braults, 28km from Alençon and 30km from Le Mans. The château is set in six acres of lawned gardens with an 11x5 heated swimming pool, garden furniture and BBQ and commands outstanding views over the surrounding forests. The owners occasionally occupy a private wing of the château.

Evidence of a château on the site dates back to the 9th century. The present château was built by the architect Manceau Delarue in 1848 for the Countess Françoise de Gallwey.

In more recent times on 10 August 1944 the Battle of Dangeul between American and occupying German forces took place at the château. There is a memorial in the grounds commemorating the war dead. Bullet holes can still be seen in the shutters and one of the paintings hanging in the dining room.
